I'd like to give you some insight on our recent decision regarding the Vemma PM™ brand. Below is the official company statement we are sending to every Brand Partner and Customer who have purchased Vemma PM.

Many of our Brand Partners and Customers are reporting great results with Vemma PM. However, despite our warnings, we have learned that people are continuing to take prescription medications and OTC (over-the-counter) pain, cold and flu medications with Vemma PM. These drugs may interact with Vemma PM to cause liver issues (such as abdominal pain, high enzyme count, dark urine or jaundice). For example, you may not be aware, but just taking the maximum dosage of one of the USA's most popular pain-relievers for four days can cause your liver enzymes to elevate from 40 (normal) to over 6001. If you are taking such medications with our product or are experiencing any such symptoms, please stop taking Vemma PM and your symptoms should subside. In addition, you should consult with your healthcare professional if you are experiencing these symptoms. The same applies with respect to alcohol. We have also learned that despite our warnings, people have been consuming alcoholic beverages along with Vemma PM. We cannot control what medications people take with Vemma PM or whether they consume alcohol with our product. In an abundance of caution, we have decided to stop selling the current version of Vemma PM as of Wednesday, February 23, 2011 and to reformulate the product. The new version will be formulated to minimize interactions between our product and medications and alcohol. We apologize for this inconvenience.

If you are building your Vemma business with a focus on Vemma PM, during this time period we encourage you to refocus your efforts on our other clinically studied products that have been proven to have mass appeal and extreme consumer loyalty. You represent the finest wellness brand available on the market and we hope you understand this decision. Please know that our legacy of responsibility, quality and consumer commitment remains our most important objective and we will uphold it. Thank you.

Keep in mind, we don't want to do anyone a disservice and withhold a great product from someone who needs it, but we're a wellness company, not a drug company. We will get this challenge corrected and we'll be a better company for it. You hear companies give you the "people first" line all the time, but this issue brings our statement of "people before profits" to life and proves it's not just clever marketing copy. We're here to make a positive difference and this will be a chapter in Vemma's history where we'll need every leader to stand up for our brand and emphasize the point that this issue has a good side to it. It's proof of integrity, it's confirmation of a wellness philosophy that few companies ever get a chance to be tested on. Challenges will come and go in any business, but what remains are the actions taken to overcome them.

Opportunities are sometimes disguised as challenges and what we've learned from this challenge is that the Vemma PM brand will be a long-term, and immensely valuable addition to the Vemma line. The story and importance of sleep fits perfectly within our business model. This reformulation project will allow us greater market reach in two ways. First, by allowing a greater number of those people currently using OTC and prescription drugs the ability to enjoy PM. Second, by possibly allowing a greater number than seven out of ten people a positive response to the formula.

I was taught that everything happens for a reason. This one challenge/opportunity will prove itself to be in that category. Something great will come of it and you'll have a better understanding that your Home Office team makes its decisions based on the simple thought...do what's right and do it quickly.

At Vemma, we're long-term thinkers. In the short term, this decision may annoy some people who have discovered how great a good night's sleep feels, but in the long term, we'll look back at these next few months as one of the wisest decisions this company has made in a long time.
